Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and credit transfer:
Nungalinya College recognises that a student may come to
study with skills that deserve recognition. Students
who believe they already have the learning required to
show competency in units offered, can apply to the
College for recognition of prior learning. This RPL
process will be explained along with the necessary
support evidence, which will require the demonstration
of prior knowledge and skills.
Nungalinya College accepts qualifications issued by
other Registered Training Organisations. Credits for
Statements of Attainment received in units or modules
offered can be transferred, upon production of these
certificates.
The Enrolment Process
Nungalinya works closely with Indigenous communities and
churches across Australia. The College does do not have
an open enrolment process, as only Indigenous people are
eligible for the training offered. Typically students
are recruited directly within their remote community,
although some students come from regional and urban
areas.
Indigenous persons who are interested in study at
Nungalinya should contact their local church
congregation or their Church’s dean at the College
(Anglican dean, Catholic dean or Uniting Church dean
freecall 1800 645 147).
The College will forward information about being a
student, including student rights and responsibilities,
and the special mixed mode study offered. The
appropriate College dean will then begin the enrolment
process.
Privacy Provisions
As a Registered Training Organisation the College has to
collect certain personal information about our
students. The Privacy Act and our College Privacy
Policy ensures that all personal information is kept
confidential and not released without written approval.
Nungalinya College will only collect information
necessary for the delivery of services and programs and
keep personal information in a special file which the
student has a right to view. If the student determines
the College has not dealt correctly with personal
information the student can use the Grievance Procedure
which will be explained upon enrolment.
Nungalinya's courses are delivered through the
Darwin campus, and in partnership with our agencies
in Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia.
We provide a unique blend of courses that are tailored to suit the needs of Indigenous communities. Our schools are as follows:

nature of Aboriginality and Spirituality. They are

community services industry. This includes aged
care and disability studies.
-

with Indigenous people. These courses are
delivered by Indigenous Trainers. They are not
accredited.
-

been created to allow young women aged 15+ to feel

decisions about the next stage of their lives.
