Cross Cultural Awareness Workshops 2012

Nungalinya College has been offering Cross Cultural Awareness Workshops since 1980. One day workshops will be held at the College from February 2012.  Please email Helen Richmond to find out more   hrichmond@nungalinya.edu.au

 

One day Cross-cultural Awareness workshops are conducted at Nungalinya College on a monthly basis.  Topics include:

  • Culture: What helps and hinders cross-cultural understanding
  • Indigenous languages
  • 'Bush Tucker tree walk'
  • Australia’s history and its impact on Indigenous communities
  • Indigenous Worldview, Kinship and Law
  • Communication and Protocols when working with Indigenous people

Nungalinya College has developed and facilitated a number of customised cross-cultural programs for local, national and international organisations. These programs alert participants to issues involved in working with Indigenous people, and promote culturally sensitive ways of learning together.   Cross Cultural Awareness Coordinator Helen Richmond and Gamiritj Guruwiwi our Indigenous Cultural Advisor along with other Indigenous presenters, provide training for professionals, church groups and NGOs, as well as others who might be interested.
