Position Vacant:  Principal

 Nungalinya College is a combined churches vocational educational College in Darwin providing Christian education through literacy, media, music and theology courses. The College is seeking a new Principal to commence in December 2018.

The Principal will lead a Christ-centred educational vision that appreciates and respects Indigenous languages and cultures and seek to empower Indigenous Christians at every level of the College. The Principal will also teach in the Certificate III and/or IV courses in Christian Ministry and Theology.

This role requires a person who is culturally sensitive, flexible, ecumenically minded, and highly competent in order to meet the demands of what is a uniquely rewarding but challenging environment.

Position Vacant:  Bible Translation Teacher and Coordinator

Nungalinya College is a combined churches vocational educational College in Darwin providing Christian education through literacy, media, music, theology and Bible translation courses.

The College is starting a new Diploma of Translating in 2019 and is seeking an experienced teacher to develop the course, teach intensives in the course, and also be available to facilitate unaccredited translation workshops in regional or remote communities. This position would commence at the beginning of Term 4, 2018.

The successful applicant should have:

  •  A Certificate IV in Training and assessment that meets the new regulations coming in April 2019
  • Qualifications in linguistics and/or translating
  • Cross-cultural experience preferably with Aboriginal people from remote communities
  • A sense of adventure and enthusiasm
