Nungalinya Indigenous Cultural Experience

Nungalinya College is a combined churches training college for Indigenous Australians. We are inviting small groups of adults who are keen to learn more about Indigenous faith and culture to join with us during term time. Experience the joys of Nungalinya College, meet Indigenous elders and emerging leaders whilst participating in engaging workshops.

Download our NICE brochure.

Why come?

  • Meet Indigenous Christians keen to share their culture and faith
  • Learn in workshops led by Indigenous trainers and mission-experienced workers
  • Enjoy an interactive, creative learning environment in tropical Darwin on the doorstep to world-heritage listed areas of outstanding beauty

Our Program

Starting with chapel each morning, our program will include workshops on Indigenous culture, Indigenous languages, and Indigenous Arts and faith.

2026 Dates

  • 29th April to 1st May. Katherine Christian Convention follows these days so you may like to investigate attending this conference also.
  • 3rd June to 5th June. Nungalinya Reconciliation Night will be celebrated on 5th June.
  • 29th July to 31st July

Costs and Accommodation

  • As this program is being offered during term time, we are not available to provide accommodation on the Nungalinya campus
  • Each group will need to find their own accommodation in Darwin and we strongly recommend hiring a vehicle
  • A nominal fee for participating in the program will be charged at $50 per person
  • We will provide morning tea and lunch at a cost of $22.50 per person per day

Stay and Explore

Perhaps after a day of rich learning together, you may choose to get out and explore the surrounding area each afternoon/evening.

Or perhaps before or after spending your days with us, you might like to head out on a field trip.

Some ideas:

  • Berry Springs, Litchfield National Park, Fogg Dam, Corroboree Billabong and World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park are right on our doorstep.
  • Explore beautiful waterfalls, swimming holes and astonishing flora and fauna.
  • Darwin located WWII sites, RFDS and Bombing of Darwin interactive exhibits, Military and Aviation museums, Art gallery, WWII Oil storage tunnels, Mindil Beach Sunset Markets and more!

You may also like to check-in with other ministry organisations to see their work in the NT. If you're in Darwin on a Sunday, why not visit a local church?

2026 End of Financial Year Appeal

When a student comes to Nungalinya College for an intensive study block, they don’t come just for themselves. They carry their family, their church and their community with them. In four weeks, they grow in biblical understanding, confidence and skills. When they return home they lead Bible studies, preach in language, teach children and live as witnesses to Jesus all year long. Give today to equip Indigenous leaders and bring the gospel to life in remote communities across Australia.
